How to enroll and register for WWU Summer Field Camp

(WWU Geology students should enroll as usual for summer quarter courses. Note that you must register for both 409 and 410.)

After your application has been accepted, you have to register. The registration occurs in two phases (well, three really, but the third happens after the course has begun). The dates for these phases of registration are listed on the schedule page.

For continuing WWU students, you will register as you normally would.

For non-WWU students taking only field camp, you must print out, and fill in the top part of the Summer Registration Application (pdf). It is also available from the Summer Session website. This must be signed and mailed in, and you will then get a WWU student ID number which will allow you to register for Field Camp over the internet.

Field Camp is two separate courses, one for field methods and one for mapping. Here are the details for each. You must register for both.

Title Course Number CRN Listed Instructor Credits
Field Methods and Theory Geology 409 TBA Hirsch 6
Geologic Mapping Geology 410 TBA Hirsch 6
  1. To actually register, you will need your assigned Western ID number, a PIN code (initially set to either the first 6 digits of your SSN or your birthdate as DDMMYY).
  2. You then log onto the Web for students.
  3. Click on Student Services, which will allow you to register for the courses. Be sure to register for both courses. You will probably want to customize your PIN for greater security as well.
